Ragtime composer Scott Joplin rose to fame in the late 1880's with hits that included "Maple Leaf Rag" and "The Entertainer." Joplin soon became a Sedalia fixture as he performed his compositions regularly and drove hundreds of visitors to the small, railroad town.

As tribute to Sedalia's ragtime fame, The Ragtime Store provides locals and visitors alike the opportunity to browse and revisit the ragtime era. Home to the Scott Joplin International Ragtime Foundation, the store can provide information for the annual Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival which occurs the last week of May.

The Ragtime Store carries a variety of specialty items and souvenirs including ragtime CDs, cassettes and sheet music. Shoppers can also browse Scott Joplin Foundation memorabilia and festival souvenirs.
