Spa FAQs

The following information will guide you through your stay with us.

How do I choose my treatment?
Consider the following when making your appointment: Is my goal relaxation, stress reduction, spending time with a loved one, or do I need to address a specific skin condition such as dry skin, enlarged pores or fine wrinkles? Once you determine your reason for visiting us, we can assist you in making treatment suggestions. Additionally, we are available by email () or phone at (660) 826-5588 six days a week and can answer any questions you have as you begin to plan your spa experience.

How do I schedule service(s)?
To make an appointment, call (660) 826-5588 and ask to be transferred to the Spa at the Hotel Bothwell receptionist. To confirm your appointment, we require a valid credit card or gift card ready to guarantee your spot. In order to help our spa staff exceed your expectations, please communicate any special requests, therapist gender preferences or medical conditions at the time of reservation.

Whom should I inform of special health issues?
Please notify the spa receptionist at the time of reservation if you are currently under a doctor’s care or have any special medical considerations. This includes but is not limited to recent surgery, allergies, high blood pressure, cold sores (for facials), fungal infections, pregnancy and cancer. Special health considerations should also be listed on the Guest Registration Form.

What happens if I am unable to keep my original appointment?
We require the courtesy of a 24 hour cancellation or change notice for single services and for multiple treatments. Failure to reschedule or change in advance will result in a fee equal to the total mount due of scheduled service prices. For all groups (6 or more) you must cancel, change or reschedule all appointments two weeks prior to the scheduled day. No shows are also subject to full payment via the gift card or credit card used to secure the reservation.

Do you provide appointment reminders?
Yes, appointment reminders are can be offered by phone, email and/or text messaging. Please communicate your preferences to our spa receptionist when reserving your appointment.  Appointment confirmations are provided as a courtesy and may not be available on occasion. Each guest is ultimately responsible for arriving to scheduled appointments.

When should I arrive for my treatment(s)?
In order to benefit from our spa experience, please arrive 30 minutes prior to your first spa treatment. This will allow time to unwind as well as get robed, complete client paperwork and enjoy our meditation lounge with light snacks and beverages.

What if I arrive late for my appointment?
Arriving late will simply limit the time for your treatment. If you are running late, the courtesy of   phone call is always appreciated. We will reschedule your appointment if possible. If we are not able to reschedule another appointment time, your services will begin as scheduled. Your arrival time will determine the length of your treatment time, which will end as scheduled so the next guest appointment time may be honored. Payment for the full treatment time is required.

What should I wear?
The Spa at the Hotel Bothwell offers men’s and women’s changing rooms  as well as private lockers for your personal belongings. Plush robes and slippers will be provided for all guests receiving a massage, facial or body treatment. For facial and massage treatments, please disrobe to your level of comfort. If you are receiving a body treatment, please disrobe completely and use the provided robe and slippers. Disposable undergarments will be provided in the treatment room and upon request. Please note that The Spa at the Hotel Bothwell does not assume responsibility for items secured inside the lockers or our treatment rooms. We ask that you do not store items of personal value at the spa.

Are food and beverages offered at your spa?
In addition to light snacks and beverages offered in both our nail salon and meditation lounge, the Spa at the Hotel Bothwell offers a Spa Cuisine menu that is available to our spa guests. For larger group reservations and facility rentals, a complete catering menu is offered from the Hotel Bothwell’s Ivory Grille Restaurant and Oak Room Lounge. What is your cell phone policy?
In order to preserve a relaxing environment at the Spa, we ask that you turn off your cell phone, email and other electronic devices while visiting the Spa. Cameras and video recording equipment in or near the treatment rooms, men and women’s changing rooms, meditation room or hydrotherapy room are strictly prohibited to ensure 100% privacy for our Spa guests.

I’m pregnant. What services are available?
We are pleased to offer a variety of spa treatments for expectant mothers including prenatal massages, facials, hand and foot treatments. Please consult with our spa receptionist at the time of booking as they will assist you in your reservation needs.

Do you offer spa services for children?
Children younger than 16 are not allowed in the treatment room area, locker rooms, or meditation lounge and are not permitted in the spa unless receiving a treatment. Minors will be scheduled with a therapist of the same gender and are asked to bring a bathing suit to wear during massage treatments. A signed parental consent is required for all guests under age 18. For more information on our Age Policy, please contact one of our spa front desk staff.

How much should I tip my therapist?
An 18% gratuity is suggested for your treatment or service
